How to better manage your work as a project engineer? . . . Hi all, this is my first post on LinkedIn. I hope all you fellow young project engineers/project managers find it useful. In my current role as a project engineer, I have to manage projects from the RFQ(Request for Quotation) stage till completion. I deal with at least 2-3 RFQs from various clients at any point of time, and requests are often very different from one another. In the beginning it was pretty difficult to keep track and meet the various deadlines, but I'd like to share a methodology I learned to make things a lot easier. Spreadsheets! I make use of two spreadsheets in my daily tasks for ease of tracking. The first one being a Master sheet where I list all the projects that I am working on. The second one I use for individual projects. When I find this to be very useful especially when working in a team to complete a project. Everyone is aware of the current progress and the deadlines they have to meet. Additionally, it also eases your task of updating your resume later on along your path.
